VESPERS IN FRENCH TO CELEBRATE THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE BICENTENNIAL
In order to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Purchase of Louisiana from France, Mount Olivet held a traditional Anglican/Episcopal Evening Prayer Book service in French. We have commissioned music in French and have had performances by a wonderful choir and soloists signing in French and English. Although the entire service is in French, some hymns are in English and a commemorative service booklet is provided with French and English in parallel columns. We have continued this service for 5 years so now it is a tradition here!!
Pictures of the Vespers on January 5 and April 27 are in "images of our church and congregation."
